Pranav Mistry: The thrilling potential of SixthSense technology

Watch this TED video and you are looking into the future. Pranav Mistry demonstrates how the digital and physical world may interact in the future. Why should we be restricted to input devices and screens on computers, laptops, tablets and smart phones when you can utilise the physical world to get relevant information instantly?

We have already seen a giant leap with touch devices in recent years and how initiative this way of interaction is. It is, essentially humanising interaction with technology. A strong indication of how initiative it is to touch, pinch and move our fingers to control the digital space as we do in the physical world is when I witnessed my two year old try to use his finger to move a window on my laptop. He has quickly adapt to the iPad norm of using his fingers and tried to do so on a non-touch laptop screen. How alien must a track pad and keyboard feel to digital natives.
